09 Apr 2026 0 comments
Pramila Bajracharya is a Kathmandu-based visual artist whose practice moves between figurative and abstract painting, with a sustained focus on the female form. Her work reflects a personal and evolving exploration of identity, emotion, and cultural experience, expressed through layered compositions and expressive use of colour.
She completed her Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Tribhuvan University and has since developed a strong presence within Nepal’s contemporary art landscape. Over the years, her work has remained consistent in its engagement with form and subject, while continuing to evolve in approach and expression.
With sixteen solo exhibitions in Nepal and participation in numerous group exhibitions internationally, her practice extends across a wide range of contexts. Her work has been shown in countries including India, the United States, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Bangladesh, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, China, and Dubai.
Beyond exhibitions, she has been actively involved in art workshops, residencies, and regional art initiatives, including SAARC Art Camps and installation-based projects. These engagements have contributed to a broader exchange of ideas and have supported the development of her artistic voice.
Her paintings are held in private and institutional collections both in Nepal and internationally. Over time, her work has found a place in a wide network of collectors, reflecting its continued relevance and resonance across different audiences.
