Muna Bhadel | Contemporary Visual Artist

12 Apr 2026 0 comments
Muna Bhadel is a Kathmandu-based visual artist whose practice moves between painting and performance. Her work reflects a sustained engagement with emotional and psychological states, exploring connections that are often overlooked within everyday life.
She completed her Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Central Department of Fine Arts, Tribhuvan University. Over the years, her practice has developed through a combination of studio work, teaching, and participation in collaborative art initiatives.
Her paintings approach experience through an introspective lens, where emotional connectedness and inner states are translated into visual form. Through layered compositions, she reflects on personal and social contexts, creating work that feels both intimate and reflective of broader human conditions.
Alongside painting, she has also developed a body of performance work, extending her exploration of presence, expression, and interaction beyond the canvas. This dual practice allows her to engage with both internal and external dimensions of experience.
Muna Bhadel has participated in exhibitions, workshops, and residency programs in Nepal and internationally. Her involvement in projects and collaborative platforms reflects an ongoing engagement with contemporary art discourse and community-based practices.
Her work has been recognized through awards and residencies, contributing to her growing presence within Nepal’s contemporary art landscape.
