Ishan Pariyar is a Kathmandu-based visual artist working primarily in painting. His practice reflects a sustained engagement with form, memory, and the development of a contemporary visual language within the Nepali art context.
He completed his Master’s degree in Fine Arts (Painting) from the Central Department of Fine Arts, Tribhuvan University, in 2013. Since then, his work has evolved through a disciplined and consistent studio practice.
Pariyar’s paintings move between personal reflection and broader cultural narratives, creating compositions that balance structure with subtle emotional depth. His approach remains grounded in painting as a medium, while continuing to expand its possibilities through process and experimentation.
His work has been presented through solo exhibitions and international platforms, contributing to a growing presence within both national and global contexts. His most recent solo exhibition, Reminiscences, was held at Siddhartha Art Gallery in Kathmandu.

He has participated in major international exhibitions including the Beijing International Art Biennale, Bihar Museum Biennale, and the Asian Art Biennale in Dhaka, as well as projects and exchanges across Asia and beyond.
Alongside exhibitions, Pariyar has been actively involved in workshops, collaborative projects, and institutional initiatives. These engagements reflect an ongoing dialogue between local narratives and wider contemporary art discourse.
